David Garrett
The German violinist David Garrett is best known for his crossover projects as a violin rebel. However, he began his career with classical music. So already at the age of 5 he won a prize in the competition
"Youth makes music". At the age of 10 DAVID GARRETT made his stage debut.
As the youngest artist, already at the age of 13, he received a contract with the well-known "Deutsche Grammophon" company.
From a young age, Garrett worked with world-renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Yehudi Menuhin.
From 1999 to 2004, Garrett studied musicology and composition at the Juilliard School in New York. He was taught, among others, by the famous violinist Itzak Perlmann.
-He won a composition competition in 2003 with a fugue in the style of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Garrett has also been seen as an actor. In 2013 he played the famous violin virtuoso Nicolo Paganini in the film The Devil's Violinist.
David Garrett currently plays 2 world-famous violins, namely the Stradivarius "Ex Busch", built in 1716.
and the "Prince Doria" built in 1734 by Guarneri del Gesù in Cremona.
